Body Respect

For women and teenage girls

We live in an appearance focused and weight obsessed culture, and it’s so easy to fall into the trap of hating our bodies. But let’s face it, if we’re hating our bodies, we probably aren’t respecting our bodies, and it’s really hard to take care of something that you don’t respect.  It’s so important for our emotional and physical health to learn to respect and care for our bodies.  Let’s join together as women to redefine beauty and learn the tools to develop a healthy body image. This interactive workshop covers the following:

  • Our current culture’s view on food and weight, and how it’s affecting our health and ability to care for our bodies.

  • What does it really mean to respect our bodies?

  • Why body size is a poor indicator of physical health.

  • How to trade our fixation on outward beauty for a pursuit of body respect and higher self-esteem.

  • The surprising way that certain compliments can be harmful and how to practice helpful encouragement instead.

  • Tools for handling challenging body image days and practicing body appreciation and positivity.

  • How to break free from the all-too-common body comparison trap that harms relationships and steals joy.

  • Tips for eating in ways that respect our bodies.
